My travel and accommodation expenses for February 2013 were as follows:

Hotels – I stayed 8 nights in hotels in London with a total cost of £647, average cost £81 per night compared to a limit of £150.

Train fares – I made 2 return journeys to London with total cost of £170, average return journey cost of £85. The maximum claim per return  journey under the rules is £146. The journeys were all standard class except 2 advance single first class tickets – these were cheaper than the standard off peak return I typically use.

Tube fares – £11

Car parking at East Midlands parkway station – £39

Mileage claim – £182– this is higher than normal as I drove to Westminster one week.

Congestion Charge – £10

Taxi – £7

I claimed for one taxi in London back from a meeting – there was no public transport option that would have enabled me to get back in time for a vote.

The full details of the claims are published by IPSA.
