My travel and accommodation expenses for January 2012 were as follows:
Hotels – I stayed 8 nights in hotels in London with a total cost of £579, average cost £72 per night compared to a limit of £150.
Train fares – I made 2 return journeys to London from East Midlands Parkwaywith total cost of £168, average return journey cost of £84. The maximum claim per return journey under the rules is £138. I also purchased a first advance single ticket from East Midlands Parkway to London for £37. Due to parliamentary business I also travelled from London to Leeds and back to East Midlands Parkway – journey cost £75. I also claimed for a standard ticket from Euston to Birmingham International for £34 – this was due to select committee business in Northern Ireland requiring a flight out from Birmingham.
Tube fares – £14
Station car parking at East Midlands parkway station – £45
My mileage claim ws £99.90.
