My travel and accommodation expenses for November 2012 were as follows:

Hotels – I stayed 10 nights in hotels in London with a total cost of £904, average cost £90 per night compared to a limit of £150.

Train fares – I made 2 return journeys  and 1 single journey to London with total cost of £177, average return journey cost of £55. The maximum claim per return  journey under the rules is £146. The journeys were all standard class except 2 advance single first class tickets – these were cheaper than the standard off peak return I typically use.

Tube fares – £10

Car parking at East Midlands parkway station – £67

Mileage claim – £252 – this is higher than normal as I drove to Westminster one week.

Congestion Charge – £10

I claimed for one taxi from East Midlands Airport to East Midlands Parkway station. The cost was £12.50. This was due to a return flight from Belfast on Northern Ireland Affairs committee business. There is no bus link.

The full details of the claims are published by IPSA.
